MK-677 for Sale Online: FAQ’s

What Does MK-677 Stand For?

MK-677 is one of the developmental code names for the growth hormone secretagogue Ibutamoren Mesylate. Other developmental code names of Ibutamoren include MK-0677 and L-163191, it was also briefly marketed under the brand name Oratrope™.[1]

Is MK-677 a SARM?

No MK-677 (Ibutamoren) is not a SARM. Although is often marketed as a SARM (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator) it is actually a non-peptide growth hormone secretagogue.

What Does Ibutamoren MK-677 Do?

As a growth hormone (GH) secretagogue, MK-677 promotes secretion of GH and increases IGF-1 levels. In doing so, MK-677 mimics the use of GH by promoting an increase in muscle mass, but does so without the side effects normally associated with GH use.

By increasing GH levels, MK-677 may have the following benefits:

  • Increase in lean body mass which should result in improved strength and muscle building.[2]
  • Reduced fat mass.
  • Reversal of age-associated insomnia.
  • Improved sleep pattern and quality.[3]
  • Increased energy and vitality.

How Much MK-677 Should I Take?

The dose of MK-677 that you should take will be dictated by the prescribing practitioner, however as a general guideline, one 25mg capsule per day of Ibutamoren is typical. This is also the dose that has been observed through clinical study to influence an increase in fat-free mass.[2]

Daily dosing is important since Ibutamoren remains active in the body for approximately 24 hours. This is quite a long period of activity compared to some of the other GH secretagogues such as GHRP-2 and GHRP-6.

How Long Does it Take for MK-677 to Work?

Although administration of MK-677 results in an immediate increase in blood GH levels, the benefits of growth hormone therapy are greatest after 3-6 months and long-term therapy is recommended.

Does MK-677 Increase Strength?

Studies have indicated that MK-677 can influence an increase in fat-free (lean) body mass within 2 months.[4] This should translate into improved muscle building and therefore, increased muscle strength.

Is MK-677 FDA Approved?

While MK-677 currently lacks FDA approval, it is also not banned by the FDA or on the ‘Do Not Compound’ list. This means that MK-677 can be legally compounded by licensed US pharmacies and sold for human use when prescribed by a doctor.

Does MK-677 Increase Appetite?

Some studies have noted a short-term increase in appetite in the test subjects following MK-677 administration. This increase in appetite subsided within 3 months.

Does MK-677 Cause Bloating?

Some studies have reported that edema (swelling) and abdominal distension (bloating) are potential side effects of MK-677 use.[5]

Is MK-677 Ibutamoren Safe?

Overall, most studies have shown MK-677 to be well tolerated and without long-term side effects within 2 years of use.[6]

Some of the side effects reported in other studies include muscle pain, joint pain and edema. A short-term increase in appetite (which resolved within 3 months) has also been noted.

Finally, one study on people recovering from hip fracture was terminated due to the higher rate of heart failure that was observed in the group taking MK-677.[7]

If you have any concerns or experience any side effects of MK-677 you should report them to your prescribing practitioner immediately.
